Exclamation tires baby!!!!!!

alright, i just bought 4 new torq thrust M wheels 18x9 in front and 18x10 out back, and they are sick! but i dont know what rubber i should be layin down on the road. ive been lookin at some Goodyear Eagle f1 supercars, but all the revews ive read sound really crappy. oh, by the way, im drivin a 96 GT and after i get the new wheels im planning on putting a 1-1.5 inch drop on the car. so i also need a tire thats not going to rub the finders around corners after i drop it.
i want something with good tread life cuz i cant rotate the wheels( pric of that staggered look ) but they cant be 300 bucks iether!

Nitto 555 extreme's are a decent compromise between treadwear and traction, just don't get the drag radials, they will wear out very fast on the street. I used to have falken azenis, they lasted a long time and were very quiet, but the traction sucked.

i checked out those nittos, they look pretty sick. if i lower the car about an inch to an inch and a half, should i have any problems with a 285/40-18 tire out back? and what size would fit best up front?

Just try to stay as close to the stock diameter as you can and you should be fine. Tirerack.com has a cool app that you can input different sizes and get the measurements of diameter, width, etc. and you can even compare different brands, though they don't carry all brands. There are small size differences between different brands with the same aspect ratio.
