Default GT rims on a V6

hey everybody
i just bought my 2002 mustang V6 3.8 L a few months ago
im loving it but i just dont know why they make the rims so ugly....
my coworker offered to sell me his 17 inch rims off his GT with the bigger tires. will i have any problem replacing my 205/65/17 size with the 245/45/17? i heard i might have to reset the computer, but i also heard i might lose some speed. any info on that? thanks in advance!!!

Not really sure why you would need to reset your computer but I know with the speed thing the only reason why you lose speed is because the tires are heavier than the stock 15-inch rims and tires that come on your car but I agree the stock rims on the V-6 mustangs have basically no style to them and are very ugly thats just my opinion I replaced my rims on my car with the 2004 V-6 Aniversary rims which are freakin sweet because it allows my V-6 mustang to keep her V-6 identity. Anyways you also shouldnt have any problems putting them on because all 99-04 have the same 5-lug pattern. If you are replacing them with 05-07 GT Rims you may need some spacers for your rims to fit.

-GOOD LUCK
