Default what tire size for 17x9" Cobra rims

What size of tire should I run on a 93 LX which is lowered atleast 1 1/2" and I will be using a set of 95 style 17x9" rims with 6" backspacing. I was looking at 245/40/17 tires.

245's up front and 275's out back
you can go 255's but they will rub a little up front

I've got 255/55/17's on 9" wheels all the way around on my 86. I had to trim a little off of the lower fender extension on the front of the fender to make them clear but, other than that, no problems. There isn't enough room for crimp on wheel weights tho. Had to go with stick on's.

so, with 245/40's on all four corners there should be no problems with rubbing?

I use 285/35 in rear but have not lowered yet. I think you can only use 275 on back if lowered. As far as the front I use the 235/40 tires so that if I do rub its the rim and not the tire.

235 would be recommended, 245 might rub a bit if there's no modifications for them to fit but at full turn.

I am thinking about 235/40/17 front and 255/40 or 275/40 rear. On my 97 GT I had 17x10.5 03 Cobra rims with 285/40/17 and had to remove the quad shock. I don't want to do this if I don't have to. Will the 275/40 fit without any mods? If I need to the car will be raised back up a little.

I have the same wheels on my 88. I have 245/45/17 all around. But when the rear tires get worn out I am going to go with the 275/40/17's.
I have also lowered the car. The front rubs a little at full turn but not too much.

I would do 255's in the front and 275's in the rear.

Default How about backspacing and offset?

The wheel sizes helped, but what about B.spacing and offset ? I am looking at a set of 215/40/17 tires on rims that have a 5.5 b.spacing and a negative offset. Will they work on a 1989 fox? She's lowered about an inch .
