Default Biggest tire on 17X7,5 wheel under fox

Anybody fitted 255/45 tire rear on 7,5 wide wheel? I know the tirespecs recommends 8 inch minimum for this tire, but.... I saw picture where 255's were on 8's and it was quite bulging but half inch isn't that much, is it?

How about s197 wheel/tire package under foxbody, isn't it 235/55-17 oem on these newer mustangs? Front will not fit, i guess???

it will fit but if you corner hard you have a much greater chance of damaging a tire or something. if you don't do many 60mph hairpin turns though you'll be just fine.

Just got pair of 225/50-17's and test fitted them with my new wheels. In rear they fitted nice but there is room for bigger diameter tire, still figuring out what size, maybe 235/55 is too tall eventually. Front is almost perfect BUT tire rubs to the plastic panel on front fender when turning. I couldn't believe it because my tire size isn't that much taller than stock tire.

Sorry for bad picture quality, taken by mobilephone camera...
