I am trading my 20" wheels. still not sure what to have instead.

The '07 to '09 GT500 came with 18" diameter aluminum wheels from the factory. The GT500KR also came with 18" wheels. People asked why larger rims had not been used on the GT500KR and Ford engineers explained that 18" wheels were the optimum performance size for the S197 chassis.

Then Ford made 19" wheels standard on the 2010 GT500 and optional on the 2010 Mustang GT. I have not seen any explanation justifying this change. It may be simply in response to the 20" wheels available on both the Challenger and Camaro.

+1 on 18s. Less unsprung weight than 20s.

i know 18 is the way to go..
but not sure about wheel width and tire size for both fronts and rears

they definitely ride/race better than 20s and maintain the good looking but, 18s are the best..

+1 rubber of 19s cost even more than 20s and 18s..

in my case, it would be foolish of me to trade my wheels for 1 single inch!
