Default Need new tires

I need new tires but can't afford new wheels right now. I was wondering has anyone put larger tires in the back on stock rims? How's the ride, what size, and do you have any pics?
I have stock 18" fan blades.

You can safely do a 255 tire on the OEM rims.

Question

Hey guys, been a while since I've last posted. Hope everyone is doing well. Im looking to get some new tires and wheels for my stang but not sure what to get. I need some guidance! My knowledge in this area is lacking. I am running the stock 17" tires now. I want to run something wider to make the car look even more badass and like it wants to pounce. I'm cool with either sticking with another 17" or possibly bumping it up to 18". I am not looking for drag radials. I do live in Jersey and she still is an everyday drive for me during all 4 seasons. I also want to have tires that I can rotate. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

If you stay with the stock 17' 255/50/17
If you go to 18's, stagger em
Front 255/45/18
Rear 285/40/18(same diameter as fronts)
or optionally
295/40/18 295/45/18
