Default 1968 coupe needs 15" wheels and your tire size ideas

I have a 1968 Mustang coupe, 302 with a/t and factory drum brakes, i would like to put 15" Cragar SS wheels on the car, but i have had many issues with tire sidewalls rubbing on the wheel well lip both front and back using 14" wheels.

i started with 225-70-14 and they rubbed big time.

i have BF Goodrich 215-60-14's on now using old Cal Custom Cragar look-alikes, and i think the trouble is solved for now without suspension alterations.

but before i make the switch to 15" wheels, i'm asking for your opinions on what tire sizes work for you as well as opinions on wheel offset,

i'm keeping the suspension stock and i like the restomod look using fat tires.

thanks everyone.

I have a '67 Coupe and put 15" TT D's w/3.75bs, which appears to be the standard for these rims.

With 225/60/15 tires I scraped front and rear (I have lowered the front and rear ~1 1/2" and the tire tread is level with the fender lip).

I rolled the fenders and that has given me enough gap that I haven't scraped since. I may try 215/60/15 next to see if they clear more.

I think a 4.25bs may be the min. to not scrape with 225's, you might want to measure the width of the fender lip original.

I need to crawl under and measure how much inner fenderwell clearance I have since I'm pushed to the outside now, that would tell me how much bs I could use with different rims.
