So far, they are really quiet and very sticky. Does anyone have any guesses as to how they will perform at the track? Am I still looking for drag radials or will these work pretty well?
As of now, I am very happy with them. Stickier (cold) than stock, by a lot but I have not done a hot-tire launch.
I have the 555 drag radials on the '01 and hate them, JB. I won 4 of them in a burnout contest by burning up a set of BFG's, and I've been kicking myself ever since. Street wise, they are very good, but trackwise they leave something to be desired, so trackwise I would imagine you will not get much of any grip with the stock 555's. I guess it would depend on what you want to do, just don't expect your 60ft times to drop.......
pretty much everyone says they are decent for the street but not the track.
No personal experience with them though.

They work better than the stock tires, but don't expect them to be wheel-spin free. It's not going to matter much unless you can get into the 12's anyway.

Yup, my neighbor has it on his 07 Saleen S/C GT (the street tires) and even with 20 inch rims, they will not grip.. He is now purchasing the DR's, hope to see him run quicker.. This is installed and tuned by Brenspeed..
This was his best run by rolling off the line- when i saw him try to launch it even at 2000 RPM it was horrible how bad it spun.. His car is running a 91 Octane Tune at 9.5lbs.

That's what I was saying guys. I have the DR's and they are crap. On the BFG's, I would get some bite after doing my burnout before staging. With the 555R's is still spins without the bite. I did not launch with the nitrous either. The 100 treadwear rating on the Nittos makes all the difference in the world compared to the "0" rating on the other brands of drag radials. I really liked the BFG's and my MT's on the '02-they are both outstanding.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you plan on spending any time at the track, get the better tires because you'll be upset with the Nittos......
