Default 1968 Mustang Offset for a new wheel purchase

I am looking to purchase a new set of American Racing Torque II 17 inch wheels. But what is the best tire and offset I will need? Do I go with wider and bigger in the rear? or do I keep them the same.

Below I found the a description of the wheels I like. They look good on the 68 Mustang, but not sure what the offset.Wheels/Brakes – Custom Offset, 17x7 front, 17x8 rear polished American Racing Torq Thrust IIs. Sumitomo 225/45 front and 255/45 rear tires, still plenty of tread.

Bottom line - what is the best set up (tires, wheels, offset) for 1968 Mustang if I want 17 inch American Racing Torque II's?

All your help is greatly appreciated!

Sal

Hi Sal,

I am told the 4.5" offset and a 17x8 is as big as yo want to go with a classic. I haven't done it yet myself. I am in Denver too, and I wantto get a similar setup, maybe we can go in together and get a better deal. If you are interested, call me at 303 462 4545
