Smile Sumitomo or Nitto?

just wondering your opinions on both brands of tires. I am getting new tires all the way around. 315/35-17s for the rear and 255/40-17s for the front. Both are priced pretty close w/ Nittos being about $100 more. Let's hear what you all think please... thanks

You really should not compare those ratings from one manufacturer to another, they are not meant for that. Each company makes their own ratings, its not standardized.

well I have been reading all kinds of reviews on both tires, no complaints from anyone really... so I am up in the air really. Nitto has a cooler looking tread pattern but that's about all I can say as far as which one I would choose at this point. I drive in both 100 degree summer days and freezing cold snow on the road sometime in the winter so I need all climate tires for sure. The reviews says both are pretty good in all weather conditions

Sure if you are comparing tires from the same company.

Read up on how that rating is brought about.
