Default directional tires on wrong on my GT! what to do?

Hey guys... so i just noticed that my directional tires mounted on my rims were put on wrong.

The rears are fine i think... as the back rear tire that says "right" is on the right side... but the back left one doesnt say anything... left or right. note i have a staggered setup.

but in the front i have the tire that says "left" on the right side.... and the left side tire again doesnt say anything about direction.

what my question is ... were the tires incorrectly mounted? or did i just put them on wrong? could i just switch the rims from side to side?

im sooo confused about this now... grrr.. any help appreciated. thanks.

I would take them back to how ever mounted them and ask them.

I have dirctional tires on my stang and there are arrows pointing the direction of rotation. You might be able to look at the tread design.

yah... im gunna have to take a look at them tomorrow and see whats going on... cuz im sure the directions on them are not correct for sure an so far they only have 1500 miles on them and the time to fix this would be now before they get more wear on em.

ha ha. ok, this is gonna make you laugh, but you know how your left side tires dont say anything on them? check the other side. i bet they say something on the other side.ill bet you the tards that put your tires on put all of them on wrong, or didnt know that they needed to order left and right side tires, though ive never heard of tires being side specific as well as directional. usually, the side that has the writing goes out, and then they make sure they are mounted on the rims going the right direction. but definitely take it back to them, your tires should be fine though, just a little extra wear. might only get 50 thousand miles out of them as opposed to sixty

Treadwear really wont be an issue, just that they wont perform to their maximum capabilities. Depending on the tread pattern, could be horrible in heavy rain.

But do have that straightened out.

Sounds like the rear tires are on correctly. Does the tread pattern go in the same direction. As far as the front, swap the left to the right and vice versa. Check to see if the pattern is the same.

thanks for the input guys... it was a simple swap.... i took the left front to the right and the right front to the left... and all the tires were all running in the correct direction.... the car hasn't pulled in any specific direction since ....so it seems i wont need a wheel alignment or anything and the tires arent making any extra noise or giving any other funny symptoms so i guess no need for remounting or balancing them... they seem to run perfect... after all they only had 1500 miles to date.

but i guess cuz of my staggered setup there will be no rotating these tires at all period.

actually they all showed what side they were suppose to be on... it was dark when i looked when i made this post... so they were all mounted correct... just dumb mistake when putting them on the car.

yah.... we get rain 9 months of the year here.... and the tires have been great in the rain going on the wrong direction, lol!

now that they are going in the correct direction i wonder how much better they will perform.... i read that it is one of the main features of directional tires to provide superior wet traction and prevent hydroplaning by channelling the water from underneath the tire to the sides providing more 'dry' contact for the tire during the wet.
