Default Tire Size question

Im finally getting rims for my pony and have a quick question about tire size. Ive got a torch red v6 with black stripes and am looking at getting some black american racing torq thrusts. 18x9 front 18x10 rear. Now my question is... I want a decent amount of rubber on the tire, Im not a fan of the rubber band look on rims. I also dont like the way some rear tires look smaller than the front. how do these sound... 255-45 front 285-40 rear. also if you have pics of 18 inch staggered rims could you post some pics and tag the tire sizes. thanks guys.

Those sizes will work fine. I run a 295-45 on 10" rears.

The GT500 runs the 255/45, 285/40 sizes on 9.5 in. wheels. You should be fine.

Check out my latest photos to see what it looks like on GT500 wheels (18 X 9.5- 255/45 front, 285/40 rear).

I have the GT500 rims and tires too. The tires don't look at all like rubber bands, and the front and rear tires are the exact same diameter -- roughly 27.0", so the amount of tire sidewall is the same.

I would think the sizes you are thinking about should be ideal.

I have the same on the front and rear. You'll be good to go.

Good choice, you will be happy. I run the same size wheel with the tire size you selected as well.
