Default Tires for 16" mustang rims

Ive got a 2002 mustang with 16 inch rims. It currently has 245-60-16 bridgestone winter tires on it.

I want to get some crappy summer tires just to last this summer because im getting new rims and tires in the winter.

I was just wondering what i need to look for. Do i need exactly the same measurements for the tire or what else could u recommend.

Im looking to pay like under 50 bucks per tire i just need to know what too look for.

Thanks
Ian

Just go around to tire places and see if they have used tires to fit your rims if you only want them for just the summer

My advice is to keep the snow tires on your stock rims and use them for the winter, and put the summer tires on your new rims to use only in the summer. That's what i do with mine. Stock wheels and snow tires go on in the winter, and the Mach 1's with performance tires go on in the warm seasons.

kk i found out a buddy at the garage next to my work has some 205-55-16s that hell sell me for 200.

Im planning to put these tires on my stock rims for the summer then put the winters back on in the winter then when i get new rims and tires in the winter ill keep the winters on my stock rims and have sweet summer only rims and tires as well.

Sorry i should have been more clear.

Thanks
Ian

Default buyer beware!!!!

don’t go too cheap

it rains in the summer if you got bad back tires, you might fishtail on corner

if you got bad front tires, you might slide in when you want to turn

if any are bad you might skid when you want to stop

be sure to check the date on tires, and never buy a tire that has been plugged.

to check date, look at the DOT code

at the end there will be a oval with a 3 or 4 digit code. if its got 3... DONT GET THE TIRES.

3 numbers means ## is the week and the 3rd is 199X

Example

329 ( 32nd week of 1999 )

147 ( 14th week of 1997 )

if its got 4 first 2 are week and second 2 are year

example ## week 3rd and 4th number represents 20XX

2604 (26th week of 2004)

1408 (14th week of 2008 )

tires more than 3 years old should never be put on a car.

tires more than 5 should be replaced.

it is a DOT law that on your receipt they list the date the tire was made, if they don’t be sure to look! usually its on the inside of the tire.

sears and Wal-Mart are notorious for selling 8 year old new tires!!!

remember tires are the most important part of the car with out them you dont go stop or turn.

they are very important, id get a set for winter and a set for summer.

you can always take it in the fall to have them switched.

be sure to store tires not being used properly!!!
