Default Shelby wheels and nitto tires

Just installed Shelby Razors and Nitto tires Look Great! But found around 60 MPH steering wheel starts to shake. Checked wheel lugs, wheels weights on right and left tires. I think a tire/wheel is out of balance. Anyone ever have problems with nitto tires?

Nope only after track nights when I think the wheels could have used re balancing. Check to make sure the metal rings aren't still on the rotors between the rotor and the back of the wheel. Also they might not of been balanced right or a weight might of fallen off.

I went through the same problem when I put a set of Shelby Redlines with KDWs on my ride. You need to find a shop that will road force balance the wheels. Most shops generally only do a static balance which works the majority of the time. Road force balancing is a little more expensive and most shops dont carry the machine due to the cost. They will spin the wheel/tire combo to find the heavy points on the wheel and tire. They will then break the bead and spin the tire on the wheel to try and put the two heavy spots on opposite sides making it easier to balance with less weight. Disount Tire has the machine to do it.

Jack your car up and make sure your tpms has not come loose. If it is loose you will here the sensor flopping around inside the tire. I put a set of shelby razors on and I had issues with the tpms senosor coming off at speed which caused a nasty shake. I worked with the Ford Dealer and found that if the tire shop tightens the band to spec it will break and cause the sensor to come off. We ended up getting the band tight by hand and then giving it two more turns. The bands/sensor have stayed on. Even at 120++

bkmech: I've also been having this problem (shimmy in the steering wheel at 50+ speeds), so far I've tried the following:

1) Had the front tires re-balanced
2) Taken the wheels off and removed the little clips that hold the rotors on (at the factory)
3) Made sure that the wheels were flush and tightened in the proper manner
4) Double Checked that all tires were at 35psi and did not have any foreign objects stuck in them or behind the spokes of the wheels.

So far it's improved dramatically but there is still a very slight shimmy so my next thing to try is Hub Centering Rings, hopefully after doing all that it will 100% solve the problem. If you haven't tried the above it might be worth your time to do so and hopefully it will solve your problem also.

Default Nitto tire problem

Finally got ahold of service manager at CJ Pony Parts ,nobody else can setup an appointment. Took car back ,after several attemps at rebalancing front tires, told me that they had a tracking problem and this was the best they could do. Steering wheel still shook slightly. Thinking this was bull took others advise and had front tires road force balanced. Found one tire was out of spec. New shelby razor wheels ok. After having a problem balancing in the first place they should have just gotten me new tires. Ill keep you informed on how this plays out.

the first shop I was at had great customer service. I actually go out and have beers with the service manager. He order a new set of front tires for me to try and rule out any problems with the wheels themself. Finally went to the second shop where they road forced mine. One of my wheel/tire combos gave them some head aches but they finally got it. Hopefully this will be the last step for you. I hate having my steering wheel vibrate.

Tried another distributor of Nitto tires. Told Im not the only one with out of round problem with this tire manufacture. I have to purchase another tire, send the bad one back and wait to get reembursed! Seems Nitto is very bad with warranties. Emailed Nitto and trying to get authorization code to speed things up.

Any updates on this one? I was just thinking of buying Nitto tires for my ride. But I am thinking twice now that I've read this thread.
