17 x 8 Wheel Questions

I am planning on getting a new set of wheels and have a couple questions...

The wheels I am planning on, 17" x 8" with a backset of 5 5/16". Does this sound accurate for the 05 Mustang?

Next, what is the widest I could/should go on an 8" rim? Have 235 now, what about 245, 255 max? Definitely don't need to go to 275.

I wouldn't go, no bigger then 255 on an 8" width, Mike. SCT Tuner.

I had the exact same question and some people said you can fit 275 on 8" rim but 255 is the max you want to go with

I have the same size rims and I went with 245s. I heard you can pull off 255's but the sidewall may bow a bit. My nitto 245's grip great though, love em.
