Default Tire Pressure ?

What tire pressure do you run?
Whats stated on the sticker on the door jam
or
Max pressure that is stated on the tire itself
or
Something in between

Thanks for the input...

I usually run about 2psi higher than is stated on the door, as long as it doesn't go over the max rating on the tire. I think mine recommends 32psi, and I put in 34psi. Not sure why, but that's just what I use as a rule of thumb.

Wrong!
Gotta be smarter than the tire I guess, lol.

The only psi you will see on the tire is the MAX pressure the tire should ever be inflated to.
NOT the vehicles recommended pressure.

The owner better know if the tires have been changed with a different size, or load index rating.
If you stray from OE sizing, you better know what pressure you should run, and hint, its NEVER on the tire.

I think the Pirellis that came stock with mine have a max pressure of 50psi. I think that would have about the same ride as the Fred Flintstone mobile at 50psi!

I was always told to use 35psi if there wasn't any other reference.

Hey now, no name calling . 19 years, still working for Goodyear,
I have retained some of my knowledge, I think.....
The answer has been given, door sill placard is what you should go by, unless tire size has been altered.

so if you have different tire size than what came w the car you should call the tire manufacturer to get the recommended inflation?

my car came w 15" ten hole rims and apropriate tires, but now I run a 16" rim and tire.

if you want more of your tire to touch the road...then deflate ur tires...if you want less tire to touch the road...then inflate ur tires.
