I was chilling at a Park with another Mustang member and a Cop pulls up telling me My Tires Are Illegal ?
I have Good Year Ultra Grips On the rear...Best believe they grip pretty damn good.
All he said was Best make sure the next pair arnt the same. I was thinking going with all four next time

Are those tires really illegal.
Note the cops in my town dont really like Our club do to the burnouts and donuts we do maybe hes just trying to pull something ?

From looking around, they are mainly winter snow/ice tires that are not that great on dry pavement.
Also: Due to the traction capabilities of the Ultra Grip Performance tires, Goodyear recommends using Ultra Grip Performance tires only in sets of four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire performance.
They also have been discontinued in North America.

I think your tires have studs. They may be illegal in some areas. You'd have to check your local and state laws. The cop might be correct. At least he didn't hide and wait for you to get on the road and ticket you.

studs in tires are illegal. However, since i am not in the tire and am behind the wheel, i am legal

That tire is not illegal unless you have altered it. i.e. studs.

But I would not recommend driving on them in the summer.

I work for Goodyear, this is how I know
I run them on my winter beater all year round, but it mainly only sees colder months driving.
On the occasional drive in the summer, those tires really have bad traction. And wear like no tomorrow.
I ran the Ultra grip's on the stang in the winter, pretty much the same thoughts.
