Default Help....aftermarket wheels put on and car is shaking?

Hi there~

I just put my aftermarket wheels on my 2003 mustang for the summer. This is my third year with them and before i call up the company that put them on, figured I woudl get some advice. They put them on and now the steering wheel is shaking at 50mph and then at 60+mph, the whole back of the car shakes.......is this just a balancing of the wheels issue? I asked for a balance and rotation and a front end alignent so fiugred i woudl get some advice before i called up and laid into them.......

Thank you!!!

Sounds like it needs to get balanced out.

Out of balance tires can cause some serious shaking. If you still trust the company that put the tires on, take it back to them and ask them to balance them again. With the explanation of what is going on, I don't see why they wouldn't try to rectify the problem. I sold tires & wheels for years, & I would not hesitate to satisfy the customer.
GOOD LUCK!

Many places don't have a road force machine. Standard balancing should be fine- just make sure they balance them with the DYNAMIC setting, and NOT the STATIC setting.

just wanted to say thanks. It was def a balance issue. i went out and looked on the rims since i was pretty sure it was coming from the passenger rear and sure enough, there was a strip of about 10 weights when all the others only had about 2 or 3. Took it back and they balanced out and car is riding perfectly now.
Thanks.
