Default 1996 GT 17X9 Rims

I just bought a set of 17X9 rims and went to put them on and noticed that on the front the rim is rubbing my shock a little. What should i do??

I have a 1997 Cobra and the fronts I have on are 17X9 Cobra R style with a 245/45 tire and I have no issues and have full steering capabilities. What size is the tire? Is it a Mustang style rim?

Thats weird. Being a rim made for a mustang the offset should be good. you only went up in size 1" and not much wider. Sorry i could not help keep checking back.
