Default Suggestions for tire sizes?

Howdy all. Getting ready to get some new shoes for my stang. Wondering what would look the best, perform the best. Right now the guy I bought it from has 235/60/16 on the Back, and 215/60/16 on the front. Really not a good looking combo. Its an 88 LX with the pony wheels. will a 255/50 fit on the back? Just wondering.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can go to 275/45 in the rear if it hasn't been lowered. Thats what I've been told.

Are you going to get new wheel size? i.e 17in, etc.

245/45/17 front
275/45/17 rear

I've seen this and it looks great! I would wait for more feedback though from the guys who have had experience with it.

Well in the back you can put a 245/45 and in the front you can put a 225/50 for the staggered look. The 255/50 is just to chunky of a tire.

Naw, I'm gonna keep the 16 size for now. What is the "Staggered" Look? Sorry for my ignorance.

Staggered is when you got a bigger tire out back and a smaller one in the front. You can't rotate them but "I think" it looks nice. With the 255/50 the tire just gets to tall.
