Default 295/50X15 tires on a 1999?

First of all, my car is a 1999 V6 with the stock 15X7 alloy wheels and 205/65X15 tires

I have four new KUMHO 295/50X15 tires that I was given. If I use a Basset DOT steel wheel in a 15X8 size will these fit my Mustang? I am sure the 295s can manage at the rear but would they cause issues up front? I have already checked, a 15X8 is the correct size for the 295/50 tire, so my question is whether they can be used on the car.

If you have used anything like this, or have seen it, please let me know. Pictures would be appreciated as well.

Squeezing a 295 tire on a 8 inch rim is not a good idea. You will really pull the sidewalls in & the tread will bow out in the middle. The least I would put that tire on is a 10 inch rim. I would sell or trade them for a set of 245 or 255 tires that will fit easily on 8 inch wheels.

Thank you for your response. I am aware that 8" is the minimum width for a 295/50 tire, but it is within the design specs, if it had an aspect ratio less than 50 it would need a significantly wider rim.

So my original question still stands, can this fit on the front of a stock ride height 1999 Mustang?
