Default When is the best time of year to buy tires?

I looked through the forums and didn’t see anything similar so I apologize if this is a repeat.
I am trying to figure out the best time of year to buys tires. Is there a certain time of year to buy tires because they go on sale for some reason? I am assuming that like most consumer products, new models come out at a certain time and the last year’s model go on sale to clear inventory. I may be completely off on this so let me know if you have differing info. I will need to get tires in the next few months and trying to figure out if I should get them now or wait until a certain month of the year.

Spring and Fall are usually when they have the sales. That is when I usually buy them. They offer either a rebate or a "buy 3 get 1 free" offer, and it's not always because they are the end of a certain type.

Not always true... some tires can sit on the shelf for years. Soo watch out for that, regardless of what month you go to look.

The best time to buy them is when you need them. It is more a matter of where to buy them instead of when. Not to say they don't have sales. Best to do some checking around. COSTCO is a cheep place is they have what you are looking for.

I know some folks that own a Bridgestone/Firestone store. They(the manufacturer) have a price increase about every quarter. The next one for BS/FS is June.
The cheap(read Chinese) tires aren't that cheap anymore. Prez. BamBam put a 30% tariff on Chinese tires so the name brands are actually a better deal for the money.

Now if you are going for Goodyears. I work there so I get them at cost all year round, but now they are running rebates. Using my Goodyear card I will get 160 rebate back. 80 buck rebate if not using a goodyear cc. Thats on F1 tires, other tires have lower rebates.
Tire Rack offers the rebates on Goodyear tires as well.

I need some more F1's. Can you help us broke people out with your discount? I think the best time to get some tires is when you need them as stated above. Also, as stated, watch out for the shelf life. You don't want a new 4 year old tire.

Goodyear stopped making the Supecars, I wonder what GT500 owners will do, lol. I got mine via tire rack, they still had a supply, and we get wholesale prices from them, so I still get em cheap, and my 160 rebate.
Also to note, the tires I got last week from tire rack were from 07! No worries, the whole age thing is over rated as it. Might play a factor in some cheaper tires, or some really really old used tires, but I can vouch for the Goodyears, they have a long shelf life. My snow tires for my honda are over 10 years old, only used 1 year, still look as good as new.
