Default Will 17 X 8 American racing Torq Thrust Wheels fit and turn on a 65 Stang?

Looking to get these but heard some talk about them rubbing when you turn? I would be getting low profile tires on them, whatever size I had to (40 or 50 series) Thanks!

According to the people at Mustangs plus your tire size would have to be a 235/45r17. They told me that they had put those same wheels on 65 and 66 cars. Mine is a 68 and I think I'm going to try fitting them on my car.

we shoved Vitage 45's torque thrust d style 16x8's in my bro's 67, an extra inch in diameter is not going to hurt

I have 65 with 17.7's on the front with 225/40's on the front. On the rear is 17.8's with 265/40's. the rear is a really tight fit and I had to use spacers. I only rub when I hit a bump going fast on the freeway. check out my web site I have picture of the fit.

my 66 has 15X8 torq II but my tires are 265 50's they rub on small bumps. I've thought about putting smaller tires on mine but i have looked at my rim and realized that not only the tire sticks out but the rims is past the fender as well. I don't know the offset cause i ordered them from summit and just told them what i year me car was. they could have given me the srong off set. I have 15x6 up front with 215 60's, they give me that skinnies look with out being skinny for road use. I like a little meat on my tires but i realize the low profile trans am look is in right now which i think looks good too. i have heard 17x8 are fine. just get the right offset

I don't know about Torquethrust's but I put Cragar SS 17 x 8's on my 65 Fastback. They had 4 1/2" backspacing and they clear with P245 - 40's
I attached a pic so you can see.

I would say you would need at least a 4.5 inch backspacing so they dont stick out too far.

will a 4 inch backspacing work with 17 x 7 in the front and 17 x 8 in the back with torque thrust 2s? I called somewhere and they told me they would have to send the wheels into a custom shop to make the bs 4.5 which is like an extra 200$
