Default 17" X 9" Wheels, what size tire fits best?

As good weather is coming soon, I'm going to be getting my stang out of storage and put on the new wheels I got for Christmas. I go deep dish black spoke bullit wheels 17X10.5's in the rear and 17X9's for up front. I already know that I'm going to run 315/35zr17's in the rear but want to know what size tire will look exactly the same as the rear but just an inch narrower. I want the front tires to have the same sidewall height as the rear and I want the sidewalls to be straight up and down, not bullged out from the tire being too wide for the rim or too narrow for the rim. I've seen 275/40zr17's on these rims and they look good but I just want to make sure what you guys with these wider rims use. Thanks in advance!

usually a 275/40 on a 17x9...... i think sidewall difference is very minimal, i ran it on a 17x8 on rear and 245/45 on front with 17x8 rim and sidewalls looked about same

245/45 is same sidewall as 315/35.

here are some pics of a 245/45 up from 274/40 rear on a17x8...

Go at least 255/45s on the front. I have 17x10 on the back and 17x9 on the front running 275/40/17 rear and 245/45/17 front and the fronts are too narrow.

Here is a link to the AFM's tire size calculator.
I found this extremely useful when deciding on new tires.
Hope this helps.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I think I'm going to go with the 275/40's for the front because I saw a car in a back issue of Mustang Enthusiast that had the same wheel combo I have and they look sweet. The guy was running 315/35's out back to and the sidewalls looked the same front and back.
