I'm looking to purchase custom wheels for the Mustang that my wife and I are are purchasing. One of the first things we want to do is replace the wheels with custom wheels. What are the largest wheel that you can put on a 1965 without making any modifications? I'm not even sure that I want to go with any other size other than stock. What size do you have on your Mustang or what do you suggest? Thanks.

On my '65 I have 14x7's on the front and 15x8's on the back. Not sure what the biggest size is, but stock is 14X7.

Actually, the stock wheels are 14X5. If you ever want to put disk brakes on your car, you will need at least 15 inch wheels. The 15 X 7 with a 4.5 backspacing work well. Others have used 16's and 17's, but kept to the 4.5 backspacing.
