I have been to several different tire size calculator sites and they all say 747. Tirerack is the only one that says 770 that I can find (if that is the one that refers to Tires & Wheels - 1010tires.com the absolute tire and wheel authority)

Anybody got the definitive word on this?

Default I know that

if you read my thread that is what I said. The point is that there are several tire calculator sites besides Tirerack thay say 747 so again what I am looking for is the definitive answer to the question, 747 or 770?

Man, this is ridiculous.

When you get the tires, use a tape measure and go around the tire to get outer circumference, in inches. Divide by 12. Or you can go Pi*diameter/12. Diameter is easiest and most accurate, because you can do it with the car on the tires, which decreases their circumference slightly, by flattening the bottom portion of the tire. Put a ruler on top of the tire and measure from the ground to the bottom edge of the ruler. 3.141592653589793 times diameter, divided by 12, gives you feet per revolution.

When you get that number (it'll be about 7.3304, for a 28 inch tall drag tire), you can divide 5280 feet/mile by your 7.3304 feet per revolution...

Feet cancel, leaving you with, in this instance, 720 revolutions per mile.

Pirelli PZero Neros are 742 per mile. Use 740 for your tuner. Check it against a mile marker and see if it's close.

Hoowee, that's a lotta math for a Saturday morning.

Tires of the same size rotate at different speeds, even different models of the same manufacturer. What model tire is it?

That's not quite what you said... You said 747 and 770. Neither of which is correct. Tirerack says 776 for the BFG TA Spec as does the BF Goodrich site. The answer is 776.

Default It doesn't sound like

you have the definitive answer either. That is what I said, that Tires & Wheels - 1010tires.com the absolute tire and wheel authority says 770.

Check * Tire Depot - Toronto GTA York Region Thornhill Ontario, Michelin Goodyear Nankang Pirelli 3w Tire size calculator Tire Size Program U.S And Metric Tire Size Information Calculator

They have different numbers too. How about posting the link to your facts?

http://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/specs...spec/3260.html. I'm going to split this out into a separate thread since Zenflow was asking about a different size.

Just curious...why do you need the revs/mile for the stock tires?

Anyway, both the tirerack site and the BFGoodrich site say 776 revs/mile.

Default I am wondering

If the other sites are using a different speed for Revs/mile BFG uses 776 at 45 mph. Is that standard?

Default No idea

Not sure about that. The actaul revs/mile will constantly change due to tire flex at different speeds, so I guess 45mph is a good midpoint.
