Will 285/40-18's fit in the front? I know that Roush's come with 275/40-18's all around but the 285's are an exact match in overall diameter to the stock tire whereas 275's are somewhat smaller and leave a little more tire-to-fender gap. My car is lowered about 1.25 inches.

I'd sure be careful. The 285's might be the same diameter as stock but then you say you've lowered it that much. It's the extra width that might kill the swap. I find the 275-40's front fine for me, don't want to push the envelope more than Roush designed it for.
I'm running the 285's in the back and 255's in the front. 285's in the front? On what size wheel?

9.5 inches. I'm also currently running 285's and 255's but I had a little "run in" with the wall at Buttonwillow Raceway a few weeks ago so I need to replace two wheels and tires. It will be easy enough to find out if the 285's will fit since I get my car back from the bodyshop this week. I can try one of my rear tires in the front and see what happens. I just thought someone might already have done this. I had them put my stock wheels back on for now.

When your insurance pays for the "hit and run", see if they will spring for the tires
