Default Slashed tire, whats my best option?

Well after a terrible week at work I woke up yesterday morning to see a nice size gash in the side of my tire. Now unless I was on another planet or something I am pretty sure someone slashed my tire. I have my ideas on who but my question is what should be my best course of action now? I was going to go get 1 tire, but no one around here carries the stock size tire in anything less than high performance. I don't see the point in buying a nice new $160 tire along with my 3 stock ones. Doesn't make much sense. I could order a tire online, but I need to have my car sooner than I can get the tire in and on the car. And before you say just go get new ones remember I am 22 working 2 jobs to put myself through school. SO yes money is an option unlike some people we know on here. No need to name names either . I just need something that will last until it is time to change all 4 tires in which I will get new rims and tires. Now just isn't that time.I am going to put the spare on and use that for a few days but I need to do something about this quickly. All opinions and options are welcomed and thanx for the advice ahead of time.

You can't repair sidewalls or if they do, never use that shop again.

Eat it and get a new tire.

Sounds like a hatin' Chevy fan could not take your Pony.

To prove my theory, check for a Mullet hair strand nearby the scene of the crime.

There are some places that sell takeoff tires and wheels. That might be a option. That does suck.

Yea I was pretty sure they were going to be able to repair it. There is a symmetrical hole about the size of a dime just above the P in PZero. That may be a little bigger than the object used because of the weight of the car on the tire and me poking around in the hole to see if anything was stuck in it. Needless to say it is what it is and I am still left without a tire. I would like to buy a new one, but I can't wait to order one online like from tirerack. I guess I could just order one and ride my spare or something. I was hoping a cheaper option like like a takeoff tire. It really suck to say but the difference from $80 to $150 means a lot right now especially with school coming up. But if I miss any time from work due to this tire issue I won't even have enough money to get a tire. I swear these situations only happen to me.

stlwagon, I have never heard of a mustang takeoff site? How would I go about finding one around here?

I was also wondering about how many miles can you get from the stock tires? Before you flame me I am just looking for a general range. Ballpark it if you have to. I drive moderately fast. It's a DD so I try to be nice to her a lot.

This is the first time since I have owned the car that I haven't driven it one whole day....Now were going on 2 days . It just isn't right.

Same thing happened to me last year. I went to ford and my friend replaced it for me. They had quite a few take offs there. Give it a try.

Man that stinks!! I think calling the dealer would be a good place to start. If they can't help follow Stl's advice, and remember to drive slow on the spare.

I agree, that will be your best bet so you will be riding on all the same tires.

I checked and it was 111 out the door for the tire. I looked at tirerack and they have it shipping out of Reno NV for 96.00. I think thats the best deal for me. Now on to the physics of it all....

What types of problems am I going to have running one new tire? Will it mess up anything in the suspension? Tirerack also this disclaimer.... should I be worried about this...

Unless you have significant tread wear, won't be a problem. Which tire was it? If it was a front, I'd recommend you rotate the rears to the front and put the new one on the back.
