Just wondering what tire pressure most of you are running with you 07 V6 with the pony package that came with the P255X55-17" Pirelli tires I think, the car is not here at the moment.. Sorry not sure of the spelling.. On the door it said to run 33psi.. I was running 30psi for the first 3000 miles and they look fine but if I run my hand over the front tires from front to back on top of the tires I can feel a very slight cupping on the inner edges with more on the drivers side then the passenger side.. So I air them all up to 33psi today.. Just want to make sure it's ok.. Thanks! George

If you are running stock wheels/tires, I would say run what it says on the door and go from there. My '07 non-pony package says 35psi front and rear, but IIRC the PP came with 17's and not the smaller 16's that I have.
Will probably see you on the road around here sometime.
Thanks for the Replies guys! I was off on the original tire size.. What came on the car is Pirelli Nero P235/55.ZR17". But if I'm hearing you right you saying go by what's on the door jam and run with that.. George

If your V6 is like my V6, the door information is for the standard 16" wheels and tires, and says "35 LBS".
If your 17' wheels are like my 17" wheels, they are from the GT, and the GT says "32 LBS".
I'd say the combination of weight and tire size and construction is what determines the tire pressure, and there isn't that much difference between a Pony V6 and a GT, weight-wise, so I'd go with the GT pressures on the GT wheels and tires.
I also believe the sales department likes to have softer rides for demonstration to new-car buyers, and that consideration may lower the specified pressures by several pounds.
I believe people who frequent these groups are less interested in longevity than in performance. Up to a limit, higher pressures yield higher performance (but a rougher ride).
My anecdotal evidence, for your consideration:
My daily street pressures are 35 front and 33 rear. Compromise City. I like the quicker, crisper response in the higher front, the slightly softer, earlier release in the rear. You may have a difficult time making a discrimination at two-pound differences in heavy street tires.
When I go to the autocross track I pump 'em up to 42 front, 40 rear. No sidewall rollover, good response and lateral traction. I've run as low as 35 without ill effects, but prefer the sensations of the higher pressures.
The Pirelli PZero Nero tires have less than 4,000 miles on them, so the tread is tall, and it is rolling over by individual blocks, which get rounded off pretty good after a few runs, and become even noisier than standard. Shaving them would reduce block roll, and be faster, more controllable, but I'd have to start all the component evaluations over again, since they were standard when I began the suspension mods.
At the eighth-mile drags I ran 50 front and 33 rear. Worked OK for a car that doesn't squeal the tires on a slam-the-throttle start.
If you're serious about tire pressures, you need a good, accurate gauge, the kind with a bleed button.
Thanks for all the great info!! The sticker on my door jam does in fact have the right size tire printed in it but you are in fact right!! It does state 32 psi!!! I think I need my glasses more then I think I do and should in fact start using them all the time!! I re aired the tires to 32psi and will see how that works out.. You right factory or dealer aired them to 27 psi and I new that was a bit to low but I didn't like the harshness of the ride above 30.5 psi.. But going to stick with the 32 psi for a while and just get use to it.. I set the pressure after the car sits all night inside the downstairs garage in about 75 deg air temp and about a 68 to 70 deg concrete floor temp.. How does all this sound to you? I do have a good high end digital air gauge. Again thanks for taking the time and all the great info..George

Interesting, The tire pressure on my Mustang was only 28 psi when delivered from the Dealer. Not just one, but all tires (one was at 26) Low enough that the LTP light was active. It suprised me that they would have missed something like that.
Our lug nuts were very lose too.. Very poor QC.. Very unsafe! we bitched to the dealer who said they would take it up with the big wigs but never heard a thing back..
I should get under it and see what else is lose.. Never had it up on jack stands yet to give it a look see.. Are there any grease fittings to tend too under there? Anything else I should check known to be lose from the factory? George
