Default 2007 Mustang GT/CS Tire And Rim Size Problems.

I have a 2007 GT/CS with the stock 18" rims. I put some Nitto 555R 305/45R18 drag radials on the rear. They fit and look great....but my 1/4 mile times are worse now than with the stock tires. I was told that the best rim size for drag racing applications are a 15" rim. Any opinions out there?

How often do you race this car? If you do not race it that often I would not worry about it.

I race the car at least 3 times a week. I'm getting frustrated because the dyno numbers and my times definitely don't match. Everyone at the track seems to think that the 4:30 gears and the 18" rim combination are definitely the problem.

Tell me you didn't mount the 305's on the stock rims.

were your 60' any better with the drags on?
the taller tire is offsetting the gears a little. So something like it ='s out to a 4.10 gear.
