Default Bye Bye Coupe, Hello Front Disc Conversion/BF Goodrich T/A Radials!!

Well my Coupe just left awhile ago. I came in from watching her fade into the sunset and thought to myself hmmmmm....I think this is a good reason to celebrate soooooooo.........I ordered my SSBC front brake conversion kit and my BF Goodrich T/A 235/60/14 (all around) for my fastback. If things get any better than this I'll be living on the streets ! ! !

Good for you Steve! Getting some new goodies for the fastback should keep you from missing the coupe. Atleast you still have another car to work on.

You're just changing the tires? The rims go good with that car so I personally wouldn't change those unless you really want something else.

Hopefully a 1969 convertible or Sportsroof (non Mach or Boss) for next Mustang project

Trying to find my father's 1973 Mustang Grande he bought brand new. 3F04F126773 last known registration and title was in New Jersey, 1982.

Hi Jay, I don't really miss the Coupe that much but letting her go made it easier to convince myself it was alright to spend $1.3K on brakes and tires.

I really like the rims on my car now and don't want to change them. They're so original looking and in excellent condition. I checked into 15" rims but like the 14"'s just fine. I thought that maybe my 14's wouldn't clear the new brakes but I've researched it and asked a lot of questions to find out that they will fit.

I'm going with the 235/60-14 all around this time. Right now I have 195/70's in the front and 245/60's in back. I like the look of all four being wider and the same size.

Well I received the conversion kit and my new T/A radials (both within 3 days!

Everything is installed and it's GREAT! What a difference having front disc brakes and reliable tires makes. I can finally drive my F/B rather than looking at it in the garage!

Anyway.......just wanted to let you guys know!

Sounds good. I know that putting disk breaks on my car was one of the best things I did for it.

I agree. Now I feel safe doing one of the things I love doing most.........tailgating!!! Just kiddin'.

It really is nice to have disc brake security.

Now it's on to the clutch. I'm going to try adjusting it but it may be beyond that. We'll see.

Slosteve,
what size 14" rims are you running? 14x5 or 14x7. I have 14x5 on mine, and looking for a kit (somebody who's installed it) to make sure it fits behind that size wheel.

Thanks,
Nate
