Default 2006 Mustang GT Looking For Some Wheel Advice

Hey folks, new to the forum and Mustang world. I've bought a Red 06 GT and looking to do some mods. First, I want to Drop it roughly 1 to 1.5" using EIBACH Pro Kit and also wanted to purchase some wheels and wanted to know what will fit with no rubbing. I want to use 18" wheels 9" in front and 10" in back. What size tires can I use and will these size wheels work with no rubbing being lowered this amount as well. Any help would be appreciated. Also what Backspacing will I need?

I have the Eibach pro kit on mine with 20 inch rims. 255 35 20 in the front and 275 35 20 in the back with no rubbing. You shoud be fine with any size you prefer. Wouldn't worry about rubbing.

Hello, and welcome to the forums... I have the Eibach pro kit, and I am running 18x9, and 18x10 deep dish bullitts. I got mine from http://www.americanmuscle.com. Check out there 2005+ section for rim and tire options.

Before you go out moding, you need to search the forums for issues and ideas.

Just a note..the backspacing on 18x9 dd wheels are 34mm and the 18x10 rears are 45mm.I would hope that since most applications listed would or might get you on the right track. My oversized set up does not rub or suffer from fender rash on the tires. There are a lot of wheel options for your Mustang, you should check this forum on wheel and tire applications. My tire size and wheel set up info came from the some of the fine people right here on this forum.
Show Us Your Wheels! - The Mustang Source Forums

P.s. I even ran twenties on my 06'GT.check it out...also no rub or fender rash, car was lowered 1 1/2" frt on 2" on the rear.

+1 on this combo, i'm running it to. If I had to do it again though I would go with the 275/40/18's in front. First because they are a little wider, and secondly because they are a little shorter than the 255's, which would help to keep the raked look that I love so much after I drop it. However, I already have the 255's, so i'll keep em til I burn em off.

Folks, this has helped me alot. I really didn't think I could put that much meat under these fenders lowering it without rubbing. Now I just need to pick the style wheel. Mine is the bright red, I was thinking of something in black with the chromed lip.......any suggestions for a red Mustang?

thanks again

It's all about the offset!

You can stuff up to 305's under there with the right offset. I run 295/30/20's on the rear with Steeda Sport springs (similar drop to Eibachs) and have zero rubbing problems.

I would suggest ...hmmmmmm..... GT500 wheels. 275/40r18's all around. Just my preference....and definitely lowered.

I think they were 38 or 40mm...I'll look it up.

Here are some pic's. The last one, you can really see how the rears (295's) tuck in
