2000 Mustang GT Wheel and Tire Combination question.
There's a set or rims for sale locally. They're 2000 GT rims. 17x9. If I can get a deal on them, I've got a set of brand new Goodyear Eagle F1's. They're 235-45-17. Is that the correct combination?

no, you need a much bigger cross-section. Those tires are for 17x7.

I'm pretty sure stock GT tires are not 17X9 but 17X7s. The only stock 17X9s as far as I know are the Cobra R rims. For those you would need 275/40/17
17X8 & 16X8 are GT sizes . . .

The seller had said that they were 17x9 in the discription, maybe just a goof on his part.

My friend who owns a cobra has 17 by 10 on the back and it looks so wide but very cool...is this better for handling?

Only if you're making over 500hp, otherwise, the rotational mass makes it harder to accelerate, slow down, and is harder to change direction.

I have one more question. The tires I have will work, according to discount tire and belle tire. My stock tires are 205/65-15 where as the tires I have for the rims are 235/45-17. What is the overall diameter difference of the tires? Belletire told me little to none. I really don't want to have to mess with my speedometer and such.
