i ran sumitomo htrzIIs for 2 years
each tire lasted abouta year , i cut a 1.9x about 4-5 times on these towards the end of their lives. they cost about 90 bucks each on tirerack + shipping for the 245/45/17 (stock size) i now am running nitto 555 streets 245/45/17, they last long!(er) than the sumitomos i just put a fresh set a few months ago and they look new still i paid 105 for each on DTD i sold 2 bullitt rims to a friend of mine with 275/40/17 nitto555s about a year ago with about 2000miles on tires and they still are over 70%.

they really seem like they are the best tires for the money. ill be going with a set of 4 275/40/17s. for all 4 its under 400 bucks. i really dont want 245s cause they look so small. i really want to sell my rims and buy some chrome bullits with dd for the back so i can put some fatty's on.

I have that same setup that you want on my ride right now. I love em. Let me know how you like them when you get em. Make sure you go with 315's in the back on the DD. Look so mean. Stands really strong.

is your car out of alignment?

summis are good for the price... not a "performance" tire though by any means... well... if you are making ass loads of power to the ground i suppose... haha

275/40 will bubble slighty on a stock rim no main issues but on front might look funny.

this is what a 275/40/17 looks like on a stock size gt wheel 17x8

I run said tires for my summer tires, and love em. Went with 255/45 front and 275/40 rear. Seem to stay planted while thrown into a corner pretty well, considering I got all four mounted and balanced for under 300.00

Oh and why yes, I will share where I got them if anyone wants to know

BTW carguy. All I have to say about your Stang is NICE

Ive got the 275/40/18 summis on my 2000 Gt. If I get a chance today I will try to take some pics and post them. They were on the car when I bought it. Hadnt heard of them before then. Ive been happy so far! I think they handle and corner well. Look good too!

Default Thats too sweet!

carguy1985,

Those wheels and tires look awesome!!

Did the tires in the pics fit without any modifications, what size are those rims/tires in the pics?

Thats the stance I would like to have for mine.
Thanks,
Joe

They are ok. I had those tires on when I bought the car. They lasted a couple of years until I started doing massive burnouts because I wanted some new tires. All 4 for under $400. You can't go wrong there.

carguy1985,

Did the 17x10.5 bullitts with 315/35/17s require any modifications to fit? Were those the standard 17x10.5 rims from Ford?

Thanks again,
Joe
