I'm not a fan of running different diameters on the Mustang. Works well on a Vette, but not sure on our cars. You'd be asking for all kinds of control issues.

It sounds like a good idea... I just don't think it would be worth the control problems it could cause.
I've been running 17X8s on front with 235/55/17s and 18X10s on the rear with 305/45/18s for over a year. Have no idea what anyone is talking about when they say control problems.

Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing. But they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

I have understeer problems with 275-40-18/255-45-18. With that big a difference it has to be even worse.

You just hit the nail on the head!!!
The Mustang is a nose heavy car that has a tendency to push or understeer through the corners. When you put a larger contact patch out back than you have up front, you only make it worse!!! The first step towards neutral handling is going the same size at all four corners, the next thing is raising the front roll center. But that is a totally different topic.

Contrary to popular belief, I'm only half as dumb as I look .
I have 17x9 and 18x9 on my car. No problems at all.
