Question 1966 Mustang tire options narrowed down to two. Which one to choose?

Hey guys, I have finally narrowed down the rim and tire sizes to the following 2 options:

1) 16 x 7 with 4.125 BS with 225 50 16 in the rear and 205 50 16 in the front
or
2) 17x7 with 4.5 BS with 235 45 17 in the rear and 215 45 17 in the front

Do any of you guys have either of these rim and tire combos?

The rear leaf and front springs are both stock on my car, with no modification done, and i have drums all around.

If anyone out there has some input which option will be a smoother ride, but still give it that restomod look, i would appreciate the input

The 50 series tires will definetly give you a much smoother ride. The biggest tires I've ever had on my '65 coupe were BFG Euro TA's in 245/50/14's on the back (I rolled the fender lip to keep from cutting the sidewalls), and 205/60/14's up front. That was a smooth riding combo on my car. Once I get the car back on the road, I'm probably going to go with the 245/50/15's and a 215/50/15 BFG combo. With the old suspension design, I don't feel comfortable with running shorter sidewalls than a 50 series, that send every little impact from the road (potholes, dips, pavement transitions etc etc) through the entire chassis of the car. I run 45 series tires on my awd Eagle Talon, it also has stiffer aftermarket springs and shocks. If I run over a piece of gum on the road you'd feel it, and cattle guards slam the car so hard it turns on the windshield wipers unless I slow down to 20mph or less lol.
