Default 1966 Mustang backspacing & lug pattern Wheel Question

I'm upgrading from the 14" to 15" wheels but I don't know the backspacing or lug pattern. Can anyone help me out? Also, anyone have the hookup on a set?

Assuming you mean the 5 lug wheels, the bolt pattern is 5 x 4.5. The backspacing well that depends on how wide the wheel is, but I believe 4.75 is the max acceptable backspace.

As Cracker said the bolt pattern is 5x4.5, the max BS is 4.25". If you're stubborn and cheap like me, you can reshape the control arms to squeeze on a 15x7 with 4.5" BS. Hey they were free and chrome....

Thank you so much. I think I found a set for 125 off a guy in Dallas... I was wondering if they would fit

I've got 17x8 "Bullit" rims with 5.71 inch backspace, with a 1 inch adapter, so that gives me 4.71 inches backspace. But looking at all my suspension and steering components, I can tell that if I had a 16 inch or 15 inch rim, it would rub against the upper control arm, so you must be right about the 4.25 backspace on a 15x7 rim. So the lesson here I guess is that the maximum backspace you can have depends on the diameter of the rim.
