Default Looking for tires for my 1988 Mustang GT

So I have a 1988 Mustang GT that I have been building for what seems like forever now. And its time to put wheels and tires on it. I already bought a set of 17x9 Steeda ultra lites, but now I need tires. What sizes should I look into? I was thinking of running a 255/40/17 in the front and possibly a 285/35/17 in the rear. What do you guys think, to big, to small??? I just dont know how big of a tire I can fit on that thing. Maybe I should just run the same size all the way around??? Do like 175/40 or 35 all the way around? I just like the stance of an offset mustang, plus its helpful at the drag strip to have bigger in the back. What are your thoughts?

Thats a for sure! I only run BFG's and have had nothing short of excellent everything out of them. The KDW 2's are hard to find in my tire size right now, but the KDW and then the KD comeup but not in the matching offset I want to run, can find it in one size but not the other. Its frustrating me!!!
