1994 mustang gt tire size? what will fit?

i have a 94 mustang gt and it has egale 17"/8" wheels on it. how wide of a tire can i fit on that wheel?

it has 255/45 17s. my dads 98 cobra has 275/40 17s out back. can i get wider tires then 275 on my wheels or is that all that will fit? thanks

You can put 275's on an 8 inch wide wheel. And you should be able to put that 275 on there without rubbing, keep the front to 245 to avoid any possible rubbing.

Running 255/40 on the factory 17" rims all around, no problems at all.

I have run 275/40/17 front and rear with no rubbing issue. I would say run a 275/40 rear and a 255/45 in the front.

Does anyone know if a 225/55/16 stock tire and rim will fit on my 1994 v6 convertible. Tire Rack list that size as an option but it list 205/65/15 as OE (which is on there now)
