What is a good tire size for a 1993 Mustang LX coupe?
I have a 1993 convertible coupe 5.0l stock. I 'm looking to put bigger tires on it, rather then the stock size again 225 55 16. I was thinking about 245 50-16, or 245 45-16 ?
What do you guys think? I don't want to modify anything either, just throw them on and go kind of thing??
The 245/50 would keep the same tire height, so you wouldn't need to worry about getting the speedo corrected. With the 245/45, the speedo would read you're going faster than what you'd really be going.

Ask me why I ran "only" a 13.54.

I'd definitely have to agree with Eagle Autosports, that size
will work well. I ran that size on a 1993 GT that I had years ago.
You should remember for future reference that if you go with
fat tires in the rear and skinny in the fronts, you lose the biggest part of your handling characteristics for fast cornering that our suspensions are set up for. Body roll will become
much more obvious.

I'm going through the same dilemma. I have an 89 that I will be putting fenders from a 91 to 93 in the spring. I am planning on going 245 - 50/16 all the way around, but may have to reconsider that given that I am riding on sportlines that have dropped me about 1.5 inches.
A buddy has 255's all the way around...it fills his wheel wells very nicely, but he has some serious rubbing issues up front.

If you want to move up to 17s, then a nice combo is 245/45s for the Front, and 275/40s out back, they are the same diameter as the Original 225s that came on the car Stock. Also if anyone is having rubbing problems up front then you should look into a pair of Rack Limiters as they are very inexpensive and easy to install.
