Default My 6er is about to get free rims!!!

My cousin just got a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT and he swears that his car will smack mine around. I told him to put up or shut up and now were gonna race. If he wins i buy him rims, if i win he buys me rims. I am a totally stock six and all he has is a CAI. he says that hell take me b/c hes fwd so it has more traction as well as tiptronic. i kno i have way more torque than him and can get up there quick. wat do u guys think?

He has 200 bhp and 205 lb-ft. It'll likely boil down to who gets the better launch. Good luck!

Generally yes since the engine weight is over the wheels.

o dude definetly shift your auto, if you stay in drive it's gonna shift you a tad bit too soon, and remember to hold down the brake and put your foot on the gas to like 1500 RPMS... jus dont do it too long cuz you can mess up your rotors.

No, it has less, since it lifts on launch, but you're going to have as much as a problem, since you don't have a rear sway to help keep things tamped down.

Throw out your spare, jack etc., and drop in a K&N.

Actually i've heard that it wont hurt to shift these cars manually on an automatic since everything is computer driven, apparently the computer wont let you shift in a way that will damage the car so you're pretty much safe.

On the other hand, you're better off letting the car do the shifting especially if you're racing for dough. You'll have much more consistent shifts and you'll eliminate the possibility of hitting your rev-limiter leaving you rolling down the road whirring your engine rather than buzzing down the street winning the race.

Sorry the computer shifts better and faster than you can, and it really throws off the shifts, they're longer, and lazier.

Just leave it in drive and powerbrake it.
