Default What's the widest wheel & tire combination on a 2007 Mustang GT?

Can anyone tell me if I put 18 inch rims on a 2007 gt what is the the largest width I can go with without having to change wheel stops? I have been told that I can go 18 x 9 on the front and 18 x 10 in the rear as long as I dont loxer the car. Is this true???????

You can easily go 295 on 10s on the back and 255 on 9s in front. And you can still lower the car up to 1.5 ".

Will 295s on the back be of any benefit to cornering and handling or just for taking off? If they're better for cornering, then will 295s fit on the front with a car that's lowered 1.5"?

You can't put 295s on the front. They won't fit. I believe some may have gone as high as a 275 in front but even that is pushing it. 255s are as big as I'd go in front.

I was told 255s should be the biggest in the front also...

Could someone help me answer this question? If I want the car to perform like a track car rather than a dragster, then will the wider rear tires be of any benefit or should I just run 255/45s all around?

Thanks!

Actually you'd be better off with the same size tire on all 4 corners. The Mustang is very nose heavy and already suffers from understeer. Staggering only makes it worse.

Just to throw a wrench in the system, Saleen uses 275 on all four tires on 20x10 wheels.

I'd heard that before. Couldn't remember if it was the Roush or Saleen. Still, a 275 is a lot of tire to turn on the front.

The H&R Springs HR1-FMJ Mustang has 275's up front as well and 315's in the back. Obviously the rim is a bit bigger, but that is insane.

They are boasting 25 inches of tire to the ground. That's a lot, but I wonder how they turn it without rubbing? I'm making my car look like theirs in the front, just with some more manageable tires.

Offset! What is the offset range for these cars? What are the limits?

They are probable staying with stock springs or some that are close to that. Ok just did some reading and they are using Coil overs. I'm wondering what back spacing is???
