I first sanded the clearcoat off using 80 grit sandpaper, then again with a finer 600 grit. I didnt do any taping, just stuck a piece of cardboard between the wheel and tire to prevent overspray.

I really like them. Not sure I like them on a black car (though the Vette someone posted earlier is bad as hell), but it still looks pretty good. I never thought of painting, but have always wanted black rims.

Just a little to much black. But since it is sprayed on, they will probably pill from the brake dust and every day ware and tare.

Im a big fan of black rims.
For doing them yourself i think they look SWEET!
