Default 1967 Mustang 4 lug to 5 lug spacer / conversion

It seems like there are so little choice for 4 lug pattern vintage mustangs. My wife is looking for new wheels and it seems like our only option is a 4 lug to 5 lug conversion kit. has anyone done this ? is it safe ? how do you calculate the proper size and offset based on this mod? I'm a novice when it comes to cars and i really don't comprehend how to figure out acurately and safely what will fit .. i know there are lots of gurus on this site and maybe one of you can make it make sense for me . my wife would like to go to a 5 lug 15 inch wheel or bigger to give it a more sporty look. she does not like the chrome options available from the standard 4 lug offerings (weld , cragar, etc)

any help in pointing us in the right direction would be great!!
thanks in advance....

If you mean a adapter that changes it from 4 to 5 i wouldn't use one there unsafe. Same thing with a spacer adds more stress to the studs easy to sheer one of all off.Only safe way is to change the front spindles hubs brakes and rear end.

Default 4 to 5 Lug spacer

I absoulutely agree with Andrew I have been in the tire business for 15+ wheels and spacers and adaptors can be very very hazardous.

If you absolutely must use a spacer/adapter to change lug pattern please do not use an off the shelf $15.00 part. Search around and find some one who sells custom made one piece billet aluminum adapters. They are of much better quality and will be a little safer although a pair will set you back $100 to $175.00 bucks. At those prices I think you would be better off doing the conversion the right way you will have less problems and hassle in the future.

Most racing evens wont let you race using spacer/adapter hard cornering can sheer your lugs off. Seen a import do it once laughed my head off.
