Question 18 x 9/10 Wheels better than stock 17's?

I'm debating on installing 18 x 9/10 wheels on my 02 GT vert. The car now has the stock 17" bullitt wheels and I lowered it 1.5". Is this worth the $$$$. Thoughts?

It's silver with black leather interior and black top. The wheels now are the dark grey factory 02 wheels.

not by much...

and i would get some 17x10.5 in the back with a 315/35 wrapped around them and a 17x9 up front with a 275/40

my opinion is the black FR500's would look the best on your car.

He wants 18's tho. Id prefer 17x9 up front and 17x10.5 out back also (thats wut i have) but i was jus saying 18s will slow the car down.

These wheels will fit ok on the car? What about the back spacing? I really just want the car to look good. Those FR500's do look sweet.

I have 17x10.5's in the back w. Mickey Thompson DR's n they fit fine. Check out my gallery if u wanna see how they look, i have black bullits so u can also see how it looks w. black wheels. BTW my g.f has a silver GT w. black FR500's n it looks sick, her car is in my gallary too but she dont have deep dish in the back. She has 17x9 all around.

Thanks a lot, i appriceate it. I think ur car would look really good w. black rims. I dont think u need 18's to make them look good. If u want my opinion get some Black Fr500's 17x9 up front and 17x10.5 out back. My 2 cents.

I like my 18's. its funny though, the car did feel smoother and a little quicker with the stock 17's though. Im not worried about loosing that 12hp or whatever it is you lose to the wheels, its a Mach 1! Its gotta look sexy!
When I go to the track ill throw on my 17x8's and 17x10.5's with DR's for the extra inch and .01 time ill gain.
Nothing beats some sexy 18" FR500's with a deep dish!!!

Depending on the wheel you choose you won't be gaining that much weight. At the very least it will be negligible. I jumped from stock 16's to 18x10 in back and 18x9 in front and have never regretted it. I went with DD black bullets with polished lips. The FR500's would be killer on your car. I do like the idea of going with a 17x10.5 in back with 315's. That makes for a tough stance.

Mustang Parts & Performance - American Muscle has a great selection of wheels all with the proper backspacings and offsets.

Good luck!
