Default 1985 Mustang GT rim size options / what will fit?

I have a 1985 GT that is lowered 1 1/2" . It is still 4 lug and don't want to change to 5 lug. I have '87 spindles and bigger brakes. What rim size and backspacing will fit without a clearnace issue. I have 16" rims w/ 245's for rain on it now. Also run 15" hoosiers when it is dry. Would 17"x9" fit without a problem, I want to run Kuhmo victor racers and there are more options in 17"

You should be able to run 17's as long as you have wheels with 5 1/2 to 6 inches of backspacing.

Ask me why I ran "only" a 13.54.
