Default Is is safe to put 275/40's on stock 17x8 bullitts?

I have stock 17x8" bullitts and was wondering if it is safe
to put 275/40's on them?

That's a little too wide for an 8" rim. The sidewall will be compromised.

theyll fit perfectly Ive got some Sumitomo HTRZ2's on my street wheels and I love them but thats as wide as you can go

I didn't say they wouldn't fit... They just won't be safe.

yup, what he said. the sidewall will be pushed out too much and ur steering response/handling will be compromised, but your straight line traction will improve greatly. oh, and braking might be compromised as well, taking a little longer than normal to stop

ive seen it done before, and driven a car like that before. its not too bad, but not for me. i prefer instant steering response and precise handling rather than from-a-dig traction
