17/10.5 and 17/9 Tires sizes?

I have 03/04 cobra 17/10.5 rims in back and 17/9's up front. I think I can get 315-35-17 for the back and 275-45-17 for the front. will those work? If not what size should I go with?

I'd back the front tires down to a 245, without some modifying those 275 would have some serious rub. And those 315's would be borderline, 305's would probably be better. Good luck with either way you go.

what kind of modifying would I have to do to make them fit?

If I went with the 245-45-17 and 305-35-17 could I lower the car about an inch and still be alright on clearance?
