Ok, so I got new black chrom S-Style rims for Christmas, and I will be getting new tires. I have been looking for a while, and the Nexen N3000 has caught my eyes. I normally run the BF Goodrich G-Force TWA, but they are $280-320 a tire, depending on size. I was looking at the Falken drag/street tires as well, but they have a horrible tire ware rating. The N3000's are half the price, with the same traction rating, and almost double the ware rating. The traction is AA, ware rating 320, and $100 each. Has anyone here used these tires? Please no comments or opinions if you don't know, or haven't used them. I hear great things about them, but they are all on front wheel drive car threads, and I want to know if any Mustang owners have tried them?

I would rather get 285 or 295/40/18 for the back 18x10 rims, but the only tire I can find that fits 295/40/18 is the Falken AZENIS RT-615 for $220 a tire.
I think I may go with the Falken FK-452, as they will cost $600 for 4, and they have a good rep with them on the review sites.
However, I do wonder about the Nexen N3000's as they are so cheap. I have read from a few rewiew sites that they are great for the cash, but don't hook up like most of the ultra performance tires do. But a Z rated tire for $100 shipped, that is just about amazing. I don't know, I didn't put all this money in my stang to put an ok tire on. Just wondering how good they really are.
But only 205's - the same site has the 4 245's for $335, still a good deal.
So, you are looking to run 275/40 18's on the back? I run 295/35 18's on my car (Firestone Firehawks), but they cost me $140 each back 2 years ago (its the tire that SVTOA recommends).
I'll check around. The Nexxen tires don't seem to be available in the wider sizes, even in 17's, and very few sizes 18".

I have a friend who's also my "Tire Guy" and when my 1998 Mustang GT Convertable needed new shoes, he recommended the N3000 over the Potenzas for all season high performance, excellent handling and wear at half the price (or leven ess). They drive great, grip extremely well and track perfectly in tight, hard acceleration corners.
In my opinion they're very good tires at a very reasonable price, perhaps to introduce them to the American tire buying automobile enthusiasts? They're made in Korea.
