If you were in the Chicago area I could help you out some.
Look into the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercars, but for the rear go 285/40/18. For a high end tire, they are priced pretty low. (GT500 OE. Tires/size)
I picked up my set for 500 before taxes, and after rebates.
There are no rebates being offered at this time tho.
And I get them at cost for my personal vehicle.
If you were out here I could hook you up with some Hankook Ventus at 135 for the fronts, and 175 for the rears.
Not sure why the tires you priced out the rears being larger cost alot less.
usually its the other way around
if you were in North County I could most likely get you a deal, but at the same time I'm a lubrication specialists at Big O' and those measurements don't match. What after market rims you got on your stang?

You have the hook up on a pair of 315 35 17's maybe?

discounttiredirect.com has some pretty good deals, and they also sell on ebay, which is where I bought my tires from, saved me $65 from buying through there ebay account rather than there website!
thats a pretty good deal on tires though, however you gotta figure that shipping will cost between $100-$150, my 4 tires weighed about 200lbs shipping. if you add that into the total cost per tire, you will be able to budget it better, some places ship for free.....
